Coming Back
Where can I encounter Jesus in the Church?
If you have not been to church in a long time, you may wonder what is actually waiting for you there. Is it a building, a service, a group of people, or something more? Father Tim explains how Catholics encounter Jesus through prayer, Mass, the sacraments, and one another—and why that encounter can offer rest when life feels heavy.
Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.Matthew 11:28
At the heart of the Church is an encounter with Christ.
The Church offers community and a place to pray, but Father Tim points to something deeper: an opportunity to meet Jesus. Through worship, the sacraments, and the people around us, the Church invites us to draw close to the One who knows our burdens and offers rest.
